Clare
I was very unhappy in my previous job, and as my physical and mental health deteriorated pretty quickly, I had to leave.
I was stuck on what to do next, so originally, I spoke to Careers Wales who put me in touch with Working Hub, who then referred me to WorkWell Conwy.
I’ve only been working with Pete, my Employment Specialist, for a few months. One of the first things he did was refer me to counselling, because I wasn’t dealing with things very well. I’ve just finished my sessions, which have been brilliant, a really big help. If I hadn’t seen a counsellor, I don’t think I’d be here today.
I’m not quite ready for a job yet, but I’m looking into what my options are, and Pete’s helping me with that. I can’t do anything physical because it’s too painful for me now, so it’s looking into what I can do, preferably working from home as my anxiety can get the better of me with too many people around.
Pete and I have been having catch up’s every 2 weeks, he’s been helping me by giving me the tools to build on bit by bit. We’ve looked at my CV, I’ve attended jobs fairs, spoken to job agencies and employers. I’m also doing a bookkeeping course, which is good for my CV. Keeping adding and building, that’s all I can do. It’s still early days yet.
I feel a bit more positive now. I do still have bad days, and that will happen, but I know how to deal with them better now. I’m better at dealing with things and helping myself.
RCS have been a great help, and Pete’s been great, really great.
