Eryri National Park Authority is a public sector organisation responsible for conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Eryri (Snowdonia), while promoting opportunities for public enjoyment and understanding. The organisation is committed to supporting its workforce and recognises the role wellbeing plays in maintaining a motivated and healthy team.

The Wellbeing Challenge

Prior to engaging with RCS, there was little structured focus on workplace wellbeing. While its importance was recognised, there were limited initiatives in place, and no clear framework to support staff mental health or encourage engagement.

The organisation identified a need to build awareness, introduce practical activities, and create a more supportive environment for staff.

What We Did

Eryri National Park Authority partnered with RCS to build its approach to wellbeing. This included Wellbeing Champion training, training for managers, and sessions such as meditation to support staff wellbeing.

A Wellbeing Champion was established to act as a point of contact, helping to raise awareness and encourage engagement. The organisation also introduced a range of simple but effective initiatives, including a walking club, yoga and sleep resources, and a staff book club.

The Impact

These changes have helped to increase understanding of wellbeing across the organisation and given staff the confidence to introduce and take part in new activities.

There is now a greater sense of openness around wellbeing, with more opportunities for staff to connect and support one another. The introduction of a Wellbeing Champion has also provided a clear point of contact for guidance and support.

RCS have been brilliant—always helpful and quick to respond to any enquiries. The support has given us the confidence to start making positive changes and build wellbeing into our workplace.
