The In-Work Support Service is aimed at helping you address physical or mental health conditions that may be affecting your attendance or performance at work.
Our support can help you develop coping strategies, reduce anxieties or improve your physical wellbeing through rapid access to support and therapies. This may include:
- Counselling or other psychological therapies to address mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety or depression.
- Support and treatment for musculo-skeletal problems such as back pain, repetitive strain injury or other work-limiting conditions.
We can also support with other issues that may be impacting your wellbeing, such as problem debt or relationships. All support is free and fully confidential.
You can refer yourself to the service by calling 01745 336442, or by completing the online application form via the ‘Register here’ link below. Read more about eligibility here.
The service is aimed at people who are self-employed or who work in small to medium sized businesses (with under 250 staff) with limited access to occupational health support.
In some exceptional circumstances, the service can be accessed by public sector employees (eg NHS, local authorities, schools) or in companies with over 250 staff.

It’s a great service and makes you realise how important self-care is when you rely on it to keep your business going.
Words fail me, from the depths of despair to getting my life back. Without the care, support and help I don’t think I would still be here.
The support has really helped me, the six sessions were the perfect amount and we have unpacked so much. The support from everyone from start to finish has been amazing, so quick and I have been so impressed. The support has helped me to see that I could perhaps take on more work in future.
