I CAN WORK
I Can Work
I Can Work is testing a new approach to employment support for people who experience mental health issues such as low mood or anxiety and would like help with finding and sustaining employment.
We’re inviting a small number of people from across North Wales to help us understand if combining mental health care with employment support might be an effective way of helping people into work, to find the right job or improve their career and – most importantly – to help with their health and wellbeing.
This approach is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, so we’re keen to find out more about how it might work in practice in North Wales.
I Can Work is run across the six counties of North Wales and led by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in partnership with RCS and Cais, with funding from Welsh Government.
If you’d like to be a part of this project, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Contact us on 01745 336442 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are looking for paid work and experiencing one or more mental health issues such as depression or low mood, anxiety or panic attacks, I Can Work may be able to help you.
You can access the service through any health or social care professional who is working with you, such as a GP, community mental health team or social worker, or through a community-based support service such as a social prescriber or community navigator. Or you can simply phone or email us.
You will meet face-to-face with an I Can Work Employment Specialist who will discuss your job goals and start work with you to find paid employment. This will include engaging with employers.
The I Can Work team can also provide in depth support with understanding how the impact of going back to work might affect your benefits and income
The I Can Work team will continue providing support until you no longer need it, even once you’ve found work.
To find out more about how I Can Work can help you back to work, contact Katie Vaughan on 07769 239607 or 01745 336442, or email email@example.com
